There are more than 44,000 people in this county that depend on the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County for their next meal. Many recipients are children from families whose income is not sufficient to make ends meet. We’ve discovered a problem that is affecting our neighborhood, but the good news is there is something you can do to help!
Join us this August as we host the 5th Annual YPNG Movie Night at the historic Jack House and Gardens in downtown San Luis Obispo, in support of the Food Bank. And this year, our featured film will be the 80’s classic ʺThe Gooniesʺ!
We'll have a silent auction with services and products donated from vendor's all over the Central Coast, and a 50/50 raffle with half the profits going to the Food Bank and the other half going to the winner of the raffle.
Porter's "Gourment on the Go" Food Truck will be offering dinner items for purchase, and will be donating a portion of their proceeds to the Food Bank. Candy, popcorn, local beer and wine, soda, water and coffee will also be available for purchase.
Doors open at 6:00pm with the movie starting at dusk. There are four ticket packages to choose from and tickets are on sale now. Children are welcome, and kids under 13 are free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
All net proceeds from the event will be donated to the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County.
We also encourage everyone to bring some items to donate to the Food Bank bins that will be on site (click here for a list of needed items). For every four items you bring, you'll get a free drink ticket.
