On March 7^th, about 10 YPNG members participated in the Bowl for Kids' Sake to earn donations and recognition for the Big Brothers / Big Sisters of SLO County. The event was held at Cal Poly’s Mustang Lanes. Two YPNG teams were formed and all sorts of bowling talents were unveiled. Participants enjoyed Woodstock’s Pizza and event t-shirts from J. Carroll. There was also a raffle with a variety of prizes. Before the event, the total donations were over $3000. The Bowl for Kids’ Sake was a fantastic cause and a fun opportunity to support a local charity organization. Thank you to all who participated and donated to this cause. Be sure to get involved next year!

Despite the dreary weather, the March YPNG social had a successful showing. The Embassy Suites kindly hosted the event in their Atrium Room, which provided ample space for the 55 YPNGers in attendance. As always, the socials are prime opportunities to meet new or old members, to develop networking prospects, and to discover some great friendships. The big buzz of the night was the upcoming Monte Carlo Casino Night (April 30^th), which is a benefit event for The San Luis Obispo Children's Museum. Check out the YPNG website to buy your tickets.

Great turnout at the February social with a mix of new and long standing members. Thanks to Ciopinot and Leonard for hosting us in the back patio and accommodating our large group. The wine selection was excellent.

We announced the charity event, Bowling for Kids Sake, benefitting Big Brothers and Big Sisters coming up on March 7th. We are looking for YPNG members to fill out some teams and have a fun day bowling for charity and we are always looking for volunteers to get involved in many of the YPNG programs.

Our January 2010 Group Hike up Islay Peak turned out great. We had 3 new YPNG members show up making 10 total on the hike. Due to weather, we did change to this location from Bishop's Peak last minute.

Islay Peak is a fun, short hike with unique westerly views of San Luis Obispo. Hope you can join us next month when we will try the trail off Foothill Blvd for Bishop's Peak, weather permitting!

The January 2010 YPNG social at Native was a large success thanks to all who attended and Native. We met a large number of new-to-YPNG attendees and were treated withall you can eat oysters!

During the holiday season, lights will shine on ten Hospice Memorial Trees in communities throughout San Luis Obispo County. All members of the community are invited to attend.

Several members of YPNG acted as volunteers for this years memorial.

A Panel of local business owners, Russ Levanway (TekTegrity), Paul Abbott (G.J. Gardner Homes), Caroline Duell (Elemental Herbs) and David Serwitz (Grade Potential) volunteered their time to speak about their path to starting and running a business in SLO County. The event was attended by over 30 young professionals. Special thanks to our panel, The RRM Group for donating the room and to the Professional Development committee of YPNG.
